The Folger Shakespeare Library
Washington, DC
Building Sign and Banner Stand
These two building accessories were designed to compliment the front elevation of this Landmark building. The marble, plinth-type sign is located near the west entrance at the most prominent corner of the Library’s site and adjacent to both the Library of Congress’ Jefferson Building and the U.S. Supreme Court. The sign has an arrangement of decorative fasteners that can be used to attach graphic display panels advertising current events and exhibitions.
At the other end of the front façade, the banner stand and announcement board is fabricated out of aluminum to match the metalwork on the existing building. The stand’s finials are designed to fit in with the art deco style metalwork that occurs on the building’s major façades. |
