The Fellows Building - Visiting Scholars’ Housing

The project entailed the alteration and renovation of a 1930's structure that originally housed the Superintendent of Gardens quarters and related functions. It was later converted to housing and dining facilities for visiting scholars. These latest alterations provided wheelchair access to the building, an accessible apartment and common kitchen and bathroom facilities. The basement level was altered to provide office space for the building engineers, a carpentry workshop and general storage. At the same time a new sprinkler system was installed throughout, and the mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems were extensively upgraded and tied into the campus central plant.
